Stéphane Rolland -Nomad Silk Roads - Haute Couture F/W 2018/19 in Paris

To the beat of the drums of six live percussionists, the models descended the stairs of the Philharmonic Hall at Radio France. The Haute Couture designer Stéphane Rolland impressed us with a theatrical display of generous volumes, sculptural designs and also sensual draping and fitted jumpers. It was a procession of nomads crossing the silk roads through Asia and the Middle East inspired by diverse cultures. The colors are white, black and shades of brown to nude that vary like desert sands.

What IRK admires most is the structured architectural modernity of all Stéphane Rolland's pieces. There is nothing traditional about Stéphane Rolland yet his designs are eternal. We loved the textured gloves, asymmetric draping, leather bejeweled collars, extra-large puffy sleeves, embroidered with mother-of-pearl detailing, a jeweled bag that you can wear as a belt made by the glove master Philippe Martial and the and exquisite jewelry by Boghossian.
