UNTITLAB SUSTAINABLE FOOTWEAR

Kendra Dresser

Untitlab sustainable footwear, a London and Shanghai-based label, is reshaping footwear through art, ecology, and radical self-expression.

The sustainable footwear brand, Untitlab, emerges from a lineage shaped by the post-1960s rebellion, when fashion became a platform for protest, art, and identity. Since then, designers have questioned systems, materials, and power through form.

Today, Untitlab continues that legacy, although through footwear that speaks softly yet disrupts deeply.

UNTITLAB SUSTAINABLE FOOTWEAR AS CULTURAL PRACTICE

Founded in 2019, Untitlab operates between London and Shanghai, thereby bridging the Eastern and Western design languages. The brand treats footwear not as a product, but as a cultural object. Each silhouette resists fixed meaning, because interpretation remains central to the brand’s philosophy.

Rather than chasing trends, Untitlab builds visual tension. Structured forms meet fluid lines, while familiar shoes dissolve into something freer. Consequently, the wearer becomes an active participant, not a passive consumer.

DESIGN THAT REFUSES CATEGORIES

Untitlab sustainable footwear blends formal shoes, outdoor gear, and subcultural references into hybrid designs. Loafers become platforms, while boots feel sculptural and bold. Comfort still matters, with cushioned soles and generous fits designed for everyday wear.

All pieces are gender neutral, rejecting strict fashion binaries. At the same time, exaggerated proportions rethink how footwear moves and exists in urban space.

SUSTAINABILITY AS DESIGN LANGUAGE

Sustainability sits at the heart of the brand. Untitlab sustainable footwear uses PETA-approved vegan leathers, sugarcane-based suede, recycled TPU soles, and FSC-certified packaging. These choices balance ethics with strong visual impact.

The brand also works with artisans in Yunnan, helping preserve traditional skills while supporting local communities. Small-scale production favours care and responsibility over speed.

RUNWAYS, COLLABORATION AND GLOBAL PRESENCE

Untitlab sustainable collection has appeared at London Fashion Week, Pitti Uomo, and Shanghai Fashion Week. In 2023, the brand collaborated with Louis Gabriel Nouchi for a joint runway show at Paris Fashion Week.

BETWEEN HUMANITY AND ENVIRONMENT

Current collections explore the balance between humanity and the environment, while celebrating freedom and breaking boundaries. Vibrant colours bring energy to the city, yet the silhouettes stay grounded and wearable. Footwear becomes a quiet statement about living in balance.

SUSTAINABLE FOOTWEAR

Untitlab sustainable footwear proves rebellion can be refined. It whispers instead of shouts, yet leaves a lasting impact. In a world chasing speed, Untitlab chooses meaning, craft, and thoughtful disruption. That choice feels radically modern.

Kendra Dresser is in Communications and Public Relations with a focus on how fashion, media, and culture shape the way we see the world and ourselves.

She’s interested in the connection between image and meaning: how a campaign, an outfit, or a trend can say something deeper about identity, mood, and the cultural moment.

She’s especially drawn to how Generation Z uses fashion and beauty to express individuality, often in bold, layered, and playful ways. She’s also curious about how social media continues to reshape storytelling, changing how we create, share, and connect through visual culture.

To Kendra, fashion is more than just style; it’s a language! One that reflects who we are, how we feel, and what we stand for. She’s committed to sustainability and believes fashion and culture should not only inspire but also respect the planet.
