OFFSCREEN redefining the Art Fair through the Moving Image

From 20 to 25 October 2026, OFFSCREEN returns to Paris, bringing together nearly 30 international galleries at the historic Chapelle Saint-Louis de la Salpêtrière. The fair will be dedicated to artists exploring the multiple dimensions of still and moving images.
Their carefully curated presentations place artistic experimentation in dialogue with the architecture and history of the spaces they inhabit. As a result, this year OFFSCREEN’s central presentation celebrates Cuban-American artist Ana Mendieta (1948–1985), whose influential “Silueta” works explored the relationship between the body, the earth and the natural world.

An installation of six films, organized in collaboration with Marian Goodman Gallery and the artist’s estate, will be presented beneath the chapel’s monumental vaults. Furthermore, the exhibition reflects the artist’s enduring influence while reconnecting with a venue that has hosted significant artistic projects since the 1980s.

Across the fair, galleries will showcase a diverse range of image-based practices. Additionally, highlights of the OFFSCREEN exhibition will include Ibrahim Mahama’s presentation by APALAZZOGALLERY, pioneering video artist Steina Vasulka’s sculpture featuring 21 cathode-ray tube monitors, and 49 hand-painted photographs by Ukrainian artist Boris Mikhailov. The photographs were created during his first visit to France in 1989.
Additionally, Andrea Geyer will develop a site-specific installation using slide projectors in the chapel’s historic archives. Meanwhile, Thomas Paquet’s installations explore the movement of the sun and the visibility of time.

Furthermore, the second edition of “Acquisitions and Discoveries” strengthens OFFSCREEN’s institutional partnerships. It features works from the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Pinault Collection. These include projects by Theaster Gates, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, Allen Ruppersberg and Javier Téllez.
OFFSCREEN offers a selection of museum professionals
OFFSCREEN’s international curatorial residency will welcome 24 museum professionals, with discussions led by Valentine Umansky of Tate Modern and Chrissie Iles of the Whitney Museum. Additionally, artist talks, the Cultish x OFFSCREEN Prize and an exhibition by emerging artist Akari Takenobu will further enrich the programme.
