Architectural elegance in motion, rooted in both Chinese artistry and French couture traditions byFANG

Fashion rarely whispers, but byFANG chooses to speak with intention. For Spring/Summer 2026, the Maison presents a collection that communicates through form rather than volume. Under the direction of designer Fang Yang, the label continues to explore structure, flow, and harmony between two cultural hubs: Paris and Shanghai.

Folding as Foundation

This season builds on the art of zhezhi, the traditional Chinese craft of paper folding. Fang Yang does not merely reference this technique. Instead, she transforms it into a modern design philosophy. Rather than decorating the surface, she treats fabric as architecture. As a result, each piece evolves from flatness into sculptural expression through calculated tension and release.

Because of this method, the silhouettes feel intentional and fluid. They move with grace yet hold their own form. Each design reflects the brand’s core belief in precision over excess.

Precision Refined

Fang Yang expands her design language with new, origami-inspired forms. The silhouettes appear sharper and more defined, offering a clearer dialogue between structure and movement. Consequently, the garments do not just look striking; they feel alive in motion.

Color also plays a key role. Light blue joins byFANG’s signature palette of black, white, and red. This shift adds subtle luminosity and emotional freshness. While the palette remains refined, these additions create deeper visual dimension without sacrificing architectural strength.

A Cross-Cultural Dialogue

Founded by Fang Yang and entrepreneur Grégoire Caillol, byFANG is firmly rooted in both Chinese artistry and French couture traditions. This duality is not decorative. It shapes the way each garment is conceived, constructed, and ultimately worn.

This season’s designs reflect that balance. They are grounded yet ethereal, structured yet expressive. The collection moves confidently between East and West, creating a narrative that feels personal and global at once.

Couture With Purpose

Unlike other couture houses that rely on spectacle, byFANG chooses clarity. The designs are not loud, but they are deeply expressive. Through measured construction and emotional subtlety, each garment holds its own story.

What emerges is a vision of couture that values thought over theatrics. These clothes do more than impress. They speak. And in doing so, they redefine what modern couture can be.

One day when I was barely two my mom let me push her out of her bedroom. She was curious so she ran outside the house so she could watch me through the window. I climbed up on a chair by her vanity and started putting on her makeup. I loved playing dress up as a kid. Putting on my mom's sequin tube tops and high heeled shoes and then putting on a dance show in the lobby or the restaurant of the hotel/residence we lived in. It was the best childhood ever. Dress-up, dancing, playing with barbies, and drawing were my favorite things to do. I have not changed one bit today. If I am creating I am happy.

Now I am in Paris for the second time in my life and I am having a ball playing with my partner in crime Julien Crouigneau. We founded IRK Magazine together in 2015 and we are proud to collaborate with some amazing artists, and influencers.

We are also a photography duo under the pseudonym French Cowboy. We love to tell stories and create poetic images that are impactful.
