Julien Fournié presents “First Misfits”, where Haute Couture reclaims rebellion
Julien Fournié’s Spring Summer 2026 collection, “First Misfits,” confronts today’s trend toward uniformity. Since the early days of fashion rebellion, haute couture has thrived on extravagance, creativity, and fearless expression. Politically correct and socially careful styles risk dulling fashion’s edge. In contrast, Fournié celebrates individuality, transforming textiles into art and asserting Haute Couture as a platform for bold personal expression.

Inspiration from the Streets of Paris
Drawing inspiration from his years living in Paris, Fournié noticed people who showed who they were with confidence. These encounters shaped the spirit of First Misfits. The collection reflects their energy: bad boys, playful princesses, New Romantic figures, and offbeat bourgeois characters. All accept their differences while moving freely together.

A Battle of Charm
Markedly, the runway becomes a place for conversation. Each look in First Misfits engages in a playful “battle of charm,” where opposites collide and inspire. Similarly, opulent embroidery interacts with references from street art, manga, and genre films. While, silks, innovative textiles, and experimental cuts coexist without hierarchy, emphasising freedom of expression over tradition.
Fournié elevates technique through collaborations with skilled artisans. Sculptor André Tognotti transforms Carrara marble into crowns and brassiere cups, while embroiderer Amman Shaikh transforms ancestral Indian techniques into colored crystal designs. Every detail reflects a balance of avant-garde artistry, heritage craft, and contemporary audacity.

Craftsmanship Meets Innovation
Misfits Defy Conformity
In “First Misfits,” norms are questioned, and individuality reigns. Specifically, Fournié’s collection reminds us that true style is without fear, playful, and deeply personal. Subsequently, Haute Couture is no longer about copying tradition; it is about creating legend. Each look challenges viewers to embrace their distinct style and find their own identity.
Reject conformity. Assert your style. Make an impact. “First Misfits” is a tribute to the icons who dare to be different, blending poetry, craftsmanship, and unapologetic creativity.

She’s interested in the connection between image and meaning: how a campaign, an outfit, or a trend can say something deeper about identity, mood, and the cultural moment.
She’s especially drawn to how Generation Z uses fashion and beauty to express individuality, often in bold, layered, and playful ways. She’s also curious about how social media continues to reshape storytelling, changing how we create, share, and connect through visual culture.
To Kendra, fashion is more than just style; it’s a language! One that reflects who we are, how we feel, and what we stand for. She’s committed to sustainability and believes fashion and culture should not only inspire but also respect the planet.
