Talbot Runhof FW 19/20

IRK Magazine

Satin, Sequin and Neon-Yellow in abundance at the Talbot Runhof FW 19/20 show

Talbot Runhof’s long-awaited catwalk started off strong with a lilac satin corduroy dress. It was accompanied by a bright neon-yellow ribbon adorning the model‘s neck. This bright neon-yellow ribbon stood out as a key accent, appearing across multiple looks in versatile ways. An alluring bustier with an iridescent purple sheen was paired up with tweed culottes in one of our favourite looks. An undeniably eye-catching, yellow taffeta gown gave us all the “couture” feels we craved at this ready-to-wear session. The final look, a white short dress with long black fringes, was a playful twist to this exceptional collection. Indeed, the spirit of the brand was present in every detail this season.

Talbot Runhof staged its Fall/Winter ready-to-wear show, titled “Vicious Circle,” at the celebrated Faculté de Médecine in Paris’s fifth district. An unlikely pair, Johnny Talbot was an engineer born in Nashville, Tennessee while Adrian Runhof was born and raised into the fashion industry in Mainz, Germany. Nonetheless, they put aside their previous ventures to join forces and bring us what the label is today. Notably, the partnership between Talbot and Runhof created a brand identity that is truly distinct.

Contrast and Balance

This Fall/Winter collection explored contrast and control, balancing sharp tailoring with fluid silhouettes. Structured fabrics such as tweed and taffeta met sensual finishes like satin and iridescent textiles, reinforcing Talbot Runhof’s signature tension between strength and elegance. The recurring ribbon acted as a visual thread, unifying the collection while injecting a modern, graphic energy. Each look felt intentional, designed for women who command attention without excess. What’s more, the Talbot Runhof label’s attention to detail set the tone for the entire runway.

Set against the historic architecture of the Paris venue, the show heightened the dialogue between tradition and modernity. Talbot Runhof once again proved its ability to deliver runway drama without sacrificing wearability. The Fall/Winter 2019/2020 collection reaffirmed the Talbot Runhof brand’s place in contemporary luxury fashion, offering confident, polished designs that resonate well beyond the catwalk.

Once more, Talbot Runhof did not fail to amaze us with their charm and unique know-how this 2019/2020 season. In summary, the best of Talbot Runhof was on full display throughout the collection.
