Art serves as the hotel’s vibrant love language, expressed in every corner—from the custom made door handles and retro lampshades to the elegant bathroom tiles and Venetian mirrored walls. Each detail is meticulously curated, reflecting the love and care poured into the design. The classic Viennese vintage feel comes alive, resonating with craftsmanship that tells a story of dedication and artistry. While passion drives the hotel, love is indeed its very essence, vibrantly alive through the artistic language that surrounds you.

Bernd Schlacher

Hotel MOTTO is the brainchild of renowned restaurateur Bernd Schlacher, a visionary in Viennese hospitality. Fueled by his passion for cooking and hosting, Schlacher embarked on his first hotel venture, drawing inspiration from his love for Paris and especially from his favorite hotel, the Hôtel du Petit Moulin a hidden jewel in the cobblestone streets of the vibrant Marais district, adorned with whimsical decor curated by the visionary fashion designer Christian Lacroix.

Firstly inspired by the enchanting history behind Hôtel du Petit Moulin, the oldest bakery in Paris where Victor Hugo purchased his bread. Schlacher channels a flair for the theatrical at Hotel MOTTO. Here, chic design marries playful elements that celebrate both innovation and historical narratives. The hotel consequently encapsulates a lively atmosphere where artistry flourishes, reminiscent of the boudoir aesthetics found in Lacroix’s Parisian masterpiece. This spirit encourages guests to savor a slice of contemporary life while basking in comforting echoes of the past.

His own story begins with the Motto am Fluss, a stunning café and restaurant that pays tribute to the reflective waters of the Danube and the city’s vibrant culture.

At Hotel MOTTO, discover a world that invites you to embrace the beauty of Vienna while enjoying the warmth of its hospitality. With every detail designed to elevate your stay, this delightful haven seeks to ensure that your memories here are as rich and vibrant as the city itself.
