L’AGENCE Debuts in Paris: Dreams in the Grand Jardin

Sofie Kraus

The brand L’AGENCE worn by stars such as Cindy Crawford and Angelina Jolie, made its Paris debut with a collection that brought its signature West coast spirit to the heart of French fashion. The presentation titled “Dream” took place on September 29th in the infamous Grand Jardin at the Ritz in Paris. For this milestone event, the American fashion brand presented 30 looks for Spring 2027, turning the iconic courtyard into a dreamy setting filled with movement, lightness, and romance. Though known for its denim, the brand moves away from its usual California aesthetic to embrace a softer, more feminine vision.

1920s Flapper Glamour Meets Parisian Chic

For Spring 2027, L’AGENCE draws its woman into a world of romantic movement and vintage-inspired glamour. Romantic ruffles, sheer layers of chiffon, silk lace, and organza took centre stage in the Ritz gardens. An angelic palette of ivory, ecru, and vintage white meets subtle touches of orchid and pale mist blue. Intricate, beaded patterns and Art Deco motifs added a playful touch across dresses and skirts. This evoked the flirty movement of 1920s flapper fringe and shimmering beadwork.

At the same time, grounded tailoring gave the collection a sharp, modern structure. Double-breasted pinstripe suits, animal-print cropped jackets, and crisp button-downs were styled alongside flowing skirts and signature wide-leg denim. Overall the collection proves that soft vintage romance and contemporary tailoring can work together.

IRK in Conversation with Tara Rudes Dann

Following the presentation, the Fashion Director of L’AGENCE sat down with IRK to talk about this big milestone.

L’AGENCE has been expanding its international audience over the past few years. Now you’re bringing the collection to Paris for the first time. Why did now feel like the right time?

Tara Rules Dann: It was the perfect time. Our business growth here has been so strong, and it was the perfect time for us to really establish ourselves, expand, and become even stronger.

You’ve also had the Marais boutique open for around two years now. How has the French audience responded to the brand so far?

Tara Rudes Dann: They love it because we have what she wants: sophistication, femininity, sexiness, and confidence. Those are things she’s definitely looking for.

How would you describe the Parisian woman of L’AGENCE? Is she different from the Californian spirit the brand is anchored in?

Tara Rudes Dann: She’s not different. She’s just a little bit more refined in her wardrobe, and we’re going to bring some life to that.

Without giving too much away, what was the starting point for creating this collection? What did you want people to feel when they see it?

Tara Rudes Dann: Ethereal and dreamy. The collection is called Dream because you have to dream big first. There’s nothing like putting on clothing and feeling so confident, like you’re a goddess. You’ll see the flowiness of the chiffons, the draping of the silks, the suiting, and the jeans. There are also beautiful tassel details, and I’m incredibly proud of the collection.

L’AGENCE is known for denim, but this collection feels like it puts more emphasis on the broader lifestyle of the brand. Was that intentional?

Tara Rudes Dann: Jeans are such a big part of our business, but coming to Paris, we wanted to introduce a full collection that represents the lifestyle of the brand. It’s not about having less denim. It’s about putting together smart, considered jean looks that make her have that “aha” moment. Sometimes too much can be too much, but we all need jeans in our closets.

You’ve been part of L’AGENCE for almost a decade now. How has your role evolved, and how has the L’AGENCE woman evolved alongside it?

Tara Rudes Dann: The woman has evolved, but there are certain things that are non-negotiable. Coming out of COVID, I feel her strength more than ever. She’s shopping in such an easy way, with more confidence, and you can see it. She’s definitely found her own voice, and I’m so proud that I get to be a part of that.

Now that you’ve brought the collection to Paris and are introducing it to a new audience, what do you hope this next chapter brings?

Tara Rudes Dann: Light and some glamour. To be an advanced contemporary brand in this global world, the one thing I know she’s always looking for is to feel glamorous. And where else in the world to bring that than Paris?

Finally, if you could describe the L’AGENCE woman in three words, what would they be?

Tara Rudes Dann: She’s everything. She’s confident. And she makes it happen.
